Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of eight years of professional experience to design, develop, document and sustain innovative test environment systems within the Test Equipment Engineering Directorate (TEE). This 100% onsite role requires active DoD security clearance (Secret) and eligibility for interim clearance; relocation is offered.

The team tackles advanced engineering challenges to ensure mission success and system reliability in production

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of technical / engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
• Demonstrated experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) analysis.
• Experience creating mechanical drawing packages.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems in areas including, but not limited to, vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments.
• Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements.
• Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
