Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, document, and sustain complex test environment systems for Raytheon Missile Defense products. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute across all phases from initial design through sustainment.

This 100% onsite role requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of mechanical design experience, GD&T, 3D CAD (CREO/ProE), and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance. Relocation is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Advanced degree with 3+ years' related work experience.
• 5+ years of mechanical design and/or production support.
• 5+ years with 3D CAD modeling tools (CREO/ProE preferred).
• GD&T knowledge.
• Experience creating mechanical drawings or documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical test systems for vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, electro‑optical environments.
• Build and validate test solutions with high accuracy in production settings.
• Diagnose production issues and suggest design improvements.
• Mentor less experienced engineers across design to sustainment lifecycle.
