Job summary

Raytheon in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, document, and sustain innovative test environment systems. The onsite role requires a DoD Secret-clearance and a minimum of eight years of engineering experience in mechanical design and production support.

You will work in the Test Equipment Engineering Directorate (TEE), integrating state-of-the-art test solutions with advanced engineering systems, across labs, field, and production environments.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of technical / engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
• Skilled in using CAD solid modeling and analysis tools, with an emphasis on ProE / CREO Parametric for complex design and engineering workflows.
• Demonstrated experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) analysis.
• Experience creating mechanical drawing packages.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems in areas including, but not limited to, vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments.
• Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements.
• Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
