Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of eight years of professional experience to design, document, and sustain innovative test environment systems in the Test Equipment Engineering Directorate. This is a 100% onsite role in Tucson, AZ, requiring a DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain interim clearance.

Ideal candidates will have a STEM degree and strong CAD/CREO skills, GD&T experience, and a track record in mechanical design and packaging for defense programs.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight years of experience.
• Experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (ProE/CREO) and GD&T with ability to create mechanical drawing packages.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems including vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF and electro-optical for production testing environments.
• Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements.
• Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
