Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for our Test Equipment Engineering Directorate in Tucson, AZ. You will lead design, development, documentation and sustainment of mechanical test systems for missile defense products, working onsite with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, strong CAD (ProE/CREO) and GD&T expertise, and proven track record in producing mechanical drawing packages. Relocation offered.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mechanical design and production support.
• Proficiency with CAD/CREO and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical test systems (vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, electro-optical) for production testing.
• Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements.
• Evaluate production installations and modify designs to eliminate malfunctions.
