Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer with 8+ years of experience to design, document, and sustain advanced test environment systems for the Test Equipment Engineering Directorate (TEE). This 100% onsite role requires DoD Secret clearance eligibility and a strong background in mechanical design, GD&T, and CAD tooling.

The successful candidate will research, design, and develop mechanical test systems across vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, and electro-optical domains,

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
• Minimum of eight (8) years of technical / engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
• Skilled in using CAD solid modeling and analysis tools, with an emphasis on ProE / CREO Parametric for complex design and engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems in areas including, but not limited to, vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments.
• Integrate andvalidate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements.
• Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications toeliminatemalfunctions.
