Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, document, and sustain advanced test environment systems in the Test Equipment Engineering Directorate (TEE). This role is 100% onsite in Tucson, AZ, supporting DoD-level testing and production environments.

You will work with CAD tools (CREO) and GD&T, plan and validate mechanical test systems for vibration, thermal, and related testing, and contribute to cost-effective, reliable solutions for Raytheon Missile Defense products.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of technical/engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
• Proficiency with CAD solid modeling and GD&T analysis; experience creating mechanical drawing packages.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems (vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, electro-optical) for production testing environments.
• Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements.
• Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
