Job summary

RTX's Test Equipment Engineering Directorate in Tucson, AZ, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and sustain complex test environments for Raytheon missile products. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute across the lifecycle from design to sustainment.

The role is 100% onsite in Tucson and requires DoD security clearance eligibility, with strong CAD/GD&T and packaging experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and five years in mechanical design or production support
• Minimum five years of experience with 3D CAD modeling (CREO/ProE)
• GD&T knowledge and experience creating mechanical drawings
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
• Experience with mechanical/electro-mechanical packaging or complex drawing packages could be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical test systems for vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, electro‑optical environments
• Build and validate high-accuracy test solutions for production settings
• Diagnose production issues and propose design improvements to elevate performance
• Mentor and coach junior engineers across the lifecycle from design to sustainment
