Job summary

Blue Origin in Florida is seeking a senior Manufacturing Engineer to design production tooling and oversee cradle-to-grave tooling projects for the Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn units. You will apply mechanical design principles, ASME Y14.5 drafting standards, and DFMA to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years as Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer; 10+ years tooling design/commissioning.
• Experience with FEM and structural analysis; hand calculations.
• CAD-based design software experience for modeling and drafting.
• DFM and DFA with transition from development to production.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling and equipment for Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn units.
• Integrate mechanical design concepts in fast-paced projects.
• Interpret ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.
• Address fixtures, material handlers, weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machines.
• Collaborate with designers, manufacturing, and integration engineering to optimize metrics.
• Manage projects: vendor selection, fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning.
• Set and maintain schedules and budgets.
