Job summary

CannonDesign in the United States is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead a multidisciplinary team on HVAC design for large-scale educational, healthcare, corporate and science & technology facilities, with a preference for Arlington, VA area.

You will mentor designers, oversee QAQC, manage Revit/BIM modeling workflows, direct project teams, interface with clients and owners, and contribute to value engineering while monitoring budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of related experience required.
Current PE in the United States required.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes.
Advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering.
Ability to serve in QAQC process and as an independent reviewer.
Must be a critical thinker and highly analytical.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong ability to interface with clients and design team.
Experience with Revit and Trane design tools.

Responsibilities

Perform and direct complex HVAC design for large-scale buildings and mentor designers.
Interface with clients and project teams; participate in Owner/Architect meetings.
Lead QAQC reviews and independent design checks.
Direct work of staff, including performance reviews.
Oversee BIM/Revit modeling from schematic design to construction administration.
Participate in value engineering sessions and budgeting discussions.
Respond to RFIs and review change orders; support site visits and construction administration.
