Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a senior mechanical engineering professional to lead HVAC design for complex projects on a national basis with remote flexibility within the United States. The role involves directing engineers, coordinating with clients, and delivering BIM-based construction documents from schematic design through construction administration.

Requirements include a bachelor’s or master’s in engineering, 10+ years of experience, PE preferred, and proficiency with Revit and energy modeling

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Current PE in the United States preferred.
• LEED accreditation is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes.
• Ability to work independently in all mechanical disciplines with no oversight or guidance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be a critical thinker.
• Must be highly analytical.
• Must have the ability to engage effectively with clients.
• Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
• Experience in Revit, Trane Trace or Trane 3D Plus is required

Responsibilities

• Lead complex HVAC design for large-scale buildings.
• Provide technical leadership to designers and engineers.
• Oversee staff and conduct performance reviews.
• Participate in QAQC and reviews of drawings.
• Coordinate with Project Manager on schedules and budgets.
• Interface with clients and design team.
• Model HVAC and related systems in Revit/BIM.
• Specify equipment like boilers, chillers, AHUs.
• Support value engineering and design optimization.
• Conduct site visits and attend meetings as required.
