Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced HVAC design engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. You will lead design of ductwork, piping, and equipment for educational, healthcare, corporate, and science projects, with remote work options available across the U.S.

You will model in Revit, prepare construction documents, manage budgets, coordinate with clients and staff, and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred).
• Minimum 6 years of related experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the US preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Demonstrated working knowledge with ability to learn higher level concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and direct HVAC ductwork, piping, and equipment selections.
• Supervise project progress and budgets within the mechanical discipline.
• Calculate heating/cooling loads and perform energy modeling.
• Prepare Revit/BIM models for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications.
• Interface with clients and attend Owner–Architect–Construction meetings.
• Respond to RFIs and changes orders during construction documents.
• Site visits to verify conditions and monitor progress.
• Coordinate project activities and support business development.
