Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Cranberry Township, PA, seeks a senior mechanical engineer with extensive nuclear power uprate experience. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement: three days in the office and two remote days, and involves leading engineering tasks on major plant systems and vendor interfaces.

You will mentor junior staff, develop proposals and cost estimates, review heat balances and equipment sizing, and present technical findings to clients.

Qualifications

• Requires a BSME from ABET-accredited program with thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
• 10+ years in the nuclear power industry.
• Experience with nuclear uprates and turbine retrofit projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering design for nuclear plants and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform consulting level work for nuclear uprates.
• Interface with clients and project teams to present technical discussions and status.
• Develop engineering proposals and cost estimates.
• Manage resources and develop task completion estimates and budgets.
• Review heat balances, pumps, heat exchangers, and plant hazards for client recommendations.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers; perform independent reviews; attend client meetings.
