Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design project teams across a range of facilities—from power to healthcare—through design and construction. You will adapt mechanical plans to budget, design factors, and client needs, and guide a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The role requires leading the discipline for large projects, mentoring engineers, and delivering technical reports and cost proposals. PE preferred; travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 7 years experience. EPC project experience preferred.
• Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 6 years experience. EPC project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of projects from concept through design completion.
• Prepare mechanical equipment specifications, RFQs, bid summaries and purchase recommendations.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers, clients and other disciplines.
• Develop project schedules, scope, budgets and staffing; manage change orders.
