Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design project teams for power generation facilities, including gas, renewables and energy storage. You will guide projects through design, procurement and construction phases, ensuring code compliance and delivering world-class solutions.

The role requires 7+ years of EPC experience, a PE license (preferred), and an ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or ME-related Engineering Technology with FE exam.
• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
• 7 years of mechanical engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
• Professional Engineering License (PE) strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, NACE standards.
• Proficient with MS Office; experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, SmartPlant, AFT Fathom, Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for projects from concept through design completion per project manager requirements.
• Apply expert mechanical engineering concepts, codes and procedures.
• Develop procurement specs, datasheets, drawings and BOMs.
• Review supplier quotes, write bid summaries and purchasing recommendations.
• Produce design documents, calculations, P&IDs, isometrics and 3D routing recommendations.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering documents and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Lead site visits, data collection, commissioning support and field verification.
• Support client relations, proposals, and business development activities.
