Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design project teams across a broad range of facilities, including power, healthcare, and government sectors. The role focuses on leading the design and construction process, adapting mechanical plans to budget, design factors, and client needs.

The candidate will mentor engineers, perform QA/QC, review vendor docs, and coordinate with multiple disciplines and field personnel to resolve installation issues. PE is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 7 years of mechanical engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred.
• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from ABET-accredited program with FE exam and 7 years of experience.
• Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6 years of experience; EPC project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Prepare mechanical equipment specifications, data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid summaries.
• Review vendor drawings and interface data with suppliers, clients, and other disciplines.
• Support project scheduling, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning; manage change orders.
