Job summary

NAVFAC Pacific is seeking a journey‑level Mechanical Engineer in Hawaii to design, oversee, and support MILCON and facilities projects. You will drive cradle‑to‑grave mechanical design, coordinate with A/E partners, and ensure code compliance while delivering high‑quality technical work.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, a US security clearance eligibility, and a relevant track record in mechanical design for government facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• Registered Professional Engineer preferred (desirable).
• Experience with government or MILCON projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead in‑house mechanical design from cradle‑to‑grave for diverse shore facilities (HVAC, plumbing, energy systems).
• Oversee multi‑disciplinary projects and manage internal design teams and external A/E firms.
• Draft Statements of Work (SOW) and perform QA reviews on A/E submittals; act as COR.
• Provide construction‑phase support by reviewing submittals and conducting site visits.
• Lead design charrettes to define project requirements and develop conceptual designs.
• Apply industry standards and building codes to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient designs.
