Job summary

NAVFAC Pacific is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for Navy and Marine Corps facilities. You will manage in‑house design efforts, coordinate with A/E firms, and draft SOWs while ensuring compliance with codes and standards. A SECRET clearance is required, along with U.S.

citizenship and 18+ years of age. Responsibilities include construction-phase support, RFIs, site visits, and leading design charrettes for large-scale MILCON projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• US citizenship and 18+ years old at time of hire.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
• Males registered or exempt from Selective Service (SSS).
• Background check and fingerprinting are part of federal employment process.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house mechanical design (cradle-to-grave) for diverse shore facilities (HVAC, plumbing, energy systems).
• Direct and oversee multi-disciplinary projects with internal teams and external A/E firms.
• Draft Statements of Work (SOW) and perform QA reviews on A/E submittals; act as COR.
• Provide construction-phase support by reviewing submittals and resolving RFIs; conduct site visits.
• Lead design charrettes to define project requirements and develop concepts.
• Apply building codes and industry standards to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient designs.
