Job summary

NAVFAC Pacific is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design, manage, and oversee mechanical systems for Navy facilities. You will lead cradle-to-grave HVAC, plumbing, energy systems, and industrial processes, coordinating with internal teams and external A/Es while ensuring compliance with building codes and standards.

The role requires a BS in Engineering, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance, with a background check and fingerprinting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required; Selective Service registration.
• Background check and fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house mechanical design (cradle-to-grave) for diverse shore facilities, specializing in HVAC, plumbing, energy systems, and industrial processes.
• Direct and oversee multi-disciplinary projects, managing internal design teams and external A/E firms.
• Draft Statements of Work (SOW), perform QA reviews on A/E submittals, and act as the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
• Provide construction-phase support by reviewing submittals, resolving RFIs, and conducting site visits to tackle field issues.
• Lead design charrettes to define project requirements and build conceptual designs for complex, large-scale facilities.
• Apply industry standards and building codes to ensure all mechanical designs are safe, compliant, and highly efficient.
