Job summary

NAVFAC Pacific is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead cradle-to-grave mechanical design for diverse shore facilities, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, energy systems, and industrial processes.

You will direct internal teams and external A/E firms, draft SOWs, review submittals, and provide construction-phase support with site visits and RFIs. A SECRET clearance is required for eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain SECRET Clearance.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house mechanical design (cradle-to-grave) for shore facilities, specializing in HVAC, plumbing, energy systems, and industrial processes.
• Direct and oversee multi-disciplinary projects, managing internal design teams and external A/E firms.
• Draft Statements of Work (SOW), perform QA reviews on A/E submittals, and act as the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
• Provide construction-phase support by reviewing submittals, resolving RFIs, and conducting site visits to tackle field issues.
• Lead design charrettes to define project requirements and build conceptual designs for large-scale facilities.
• Apply industry standards and building codes to ensure all mechanical designs are safe, compliant, and highly efficient.
