Job summary

NAVFAC Pacific in Hawaii is seeking a journey‑level Civil Engineer to deliver infrastructure projects for the Navy and other commands. You will produce independent engineering products, designs, cost estimates, and construction specs, and support MILCON and facility development.

Responsibilities include managing multi‑discipline design projects, reviewing private A/E designs, addressing RFIs, site visits, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to undergo background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Independently create and evaluate engineering designs for site developments, access roads, utility grids, and waterfront structures; prepare blueprints, cost estimates, and construction specs.
  • Provide technical administration for multi‑discipline design projects, lead design charrettes, identify risks, and ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
  • Perform rigorous quality reviews on designs submitted by private A/E firms; draft statements of work for external services.
  • Provide post‑award support, resolve RFIs, review submittals, and conduct site visits to solve construction challenges.
  • Act as civil engineering expert, resolving complex design issues and mentoring junior engineers.
