Day & Zimmermann seeks a Mechanical Engineer 4 to lead complex projects in the chemical process sector from front-end engineering through detailed design and construction support. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, ensure design excellence, and uphold safety and quality standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 12+ years of professional engineering experience.
• 6–10+ years in the EPC/EPCm industry or with a chemical process operator.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coordinate a multidisciplinary team across projects with minimal oversight.
• Develop and evaluate conceptual mechanical designs considering constructability and environmental compliance.
• Manage mechanical scope changes within budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across disciplines, construction, vendors, and clients for smooth execution.
• Establish work plans, resources, and scheduling to drive productivity.
• Review and approve drawings, calculations, and specifications per standards and client expectations.
• Champion continuous improvement by applying best practices and new technologies.
• Support construction with technical guidance and ensure installations meet design criteria and safety standards.
