Job summary

Day & Zimmermann Company is seeking a Senior Project Engineering Manager to lead the engineering discipline on major projects. You will oversee schedules, budgets, and document control, guiding engineering leads and coordinating with design teams to deliver all engineering components on time.

You will drive cost, schedule, and quality controls, mentor engineering staff, and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• ABET-accredited Master’s degree in Engineering (preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure eligibility required.
• At least 10 years progressive engineering experience, including 5+ years in project engineering or project management (EPC background preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and independently manage medium to large-scale engineering projects, ensuring comprehensive execution of engineering efforts including specifications, documentation, and compliance with permitting requirements.
• Coordinate schedules and monitor prime contract milestones; evaluate liquidated damages impact on schedules to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate construction interface activities by integrating engineering data with build processes and support RFIs, DCRs, and FCRs.
• Lead initiatives to develop and enforce engineering policies, procedures, and regulatory standards; engage with clients on specifications and risk assessments.
• Plan and assign work schedules for engineering teams, provide leadership and mentorship, and ensure progress meets goals and quality benchmarks.
• Define engineering scope and deliverables per RFQ/RFP; specify interfaces and procurements strategies based on site data and conditions.
