Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a highly capable Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Systems team as a Project Discipline Engineer (PDE) for Industrial Water projects. You will lead a design team on water and wastewater facilities, coordinating with US and international design teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Holds an active engineering registration or licensure where applicable.
• Experience leading industrial water/wastewater projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers on system design for industrial water/wastewater projects.
• Oversee development of engineering deliverables like P&IDs, equipment layouts, piping isometrics.
• Provide technical guidance on calculations to size equipment.
• Ensure designs meet standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Review submittals and technical documentation for compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as Responsible Engineer for systems.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Adapt to varying delivery methods across projects.
• Manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to QA/QC requirements and company procedures.
