Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Systems team for Industrial Water projects. You will lead a design team, oversee engineering deliverables, and coordinate across US and international teams to deliver water and wastewater facilities.

The role requires a ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree, 11+ years of related experience, and active licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 11+ years of related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers on system design for complex industrial water/wastewater projects.
• Direct and oversee development of engineering deliverables including P&IDs, equipment layouts, piping isometrics, data sheets, and specs.
• Provide technical guidance on engineering calculations to size equipment.
• Ensure designs comply with company standards, client requirements, applicable codes, and best practices.
• Review vendor and contractor submittals, calculations, shop drawings, and documentation for compliance.
• Lead and mentor junior/mid-level engineers; assign tasks and provide coaching.
• Act as Responsible Engineer for various mechanical systems or equipment.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines and stakeholders; manage client interactions.
• Understand Industrial Water industry and adapt to different delivery methods; identify risks and support execution.
• Manage multiple assignments in a dynamic project environment; ensure QA/QC compliance.
