Job summary

TKDA is seeking a Senior Professional Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of heavy industrial systems for mining and related facilities. You will guide design teams, prepare plans and specs, and ensure quality and safety from conception through construction.

The role involves mentoring junior staff, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary group, and contributing to proposals and client presentations. Hybrid work in Minnesota with travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• 10+ years designing heavy industrial structures (manufacturing, mining).
• Proficient in structural analysis software and MS Office.
• Experience with design for new construction, renovation, and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for complex plant/building systems and site operations.
• Prepare mechanical plans, specifications, design details, and construction docs.
• Mentor and develop less experienced team members.
• Collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects and client presentations.
• Contribute to business development and marketing plans as needed.
