Job summary

TKDA seeks a Senior Professional Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, processing, and other mechanical systems for heavy industrial facilities in the Mining sector. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Structural professionals to deliver a broad range of projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Minnesota Structural Engineer license with 10+ years in heavy industrial structures (manufacturing, mining).
• Proficiency with RISA 3D, Ram Structural System, MathCAD, and MS Office.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, and precast concrete design.
• Experience conducting structural condition assessments and design repairs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for proposals, reports, meetings, and client presentations.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design effort for complex plant/building systems in heavy industry (mining, mineral processing, aggregate, metals).
• Prepare mechanical plans, specifications, design details, and construction documentation.
• Lead design teams; manage technical, quality, financial, and safety aspects from conception to construction.
• Mentor and develop less experienced team members.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Mining leadership to develop proposals and capabilities presentations.
• Travel to project sites and client meetings as needed.
