Job summary

Blue Origin Space Coast, FL is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for GSE and tooling to design, analyze, and release fixtures for the Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn programs. You will collaborate with engine and design teams to solve manufacturing challenges and deliver development and flight hardware.

The role requires a BS in Engineering and 10+ years of tooling experience, with strong CAD/analysis skills (Creo, NX, ANSYS), ASME Y14.5 familiarity, and project leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience with tooling design for manufacturing and fixtures.
• Experience with FEM and structural analysis plus hand calcs.
• CAD design experience for modeling and drafting.
• Strong DFM and DFA knowledge for production readiness.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance/stack-up analysis.
• Experience with CNC machining, welding, sheet metal, lifting/rigging.

Responsibilities

• Design production, development, test, integration, and tooling for Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn units.
• Integrate mechanical design concepts across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Create drawings per ASME Y14.5 and maintain drafting standards.
• Manage tooling projects including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, and commissioning.
• Set schedules and budgets to ensure on-time project completion.
