Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking early-career engineers to design production tooling and equipment for the Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn programs. You will integrate mechanical design concepts in a fast-paced setting, producing drawings per ASME Y14.5 and collaborating with design, manufacturing, and integration teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, independence, teamwork, and adherence to schedules and budgets to deliver safe, reliable spaceflight components.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• Recent graduate; start by Fall 2026.
• Fundamentals of design, material selection, form factors, interface definition.
• 3D CAD experience with Creo Pro/E and drawing creation.
• Basics of strength, mechanics of materials, and structural analysis.
• Understanding of Finite Element Analysis (ANYSYS preferred).
• Experience from internships/co-op showing technical skills and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling and equipment for Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn units.
• Integrate concepts of mechanical design in fast-paced projects.
• Create drawings following ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Address fixtures, material handlers, rotisseries, test fixtures, and weldments.
• Collaborate with designers, manufacturing and integration engineers for cradle-to-grave metrics.
• Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, and commissioning.
• Set and maintain schedules and budgets to ensure timely completion.
