Blue Origin is seeking an experienced design and tooling engineer to design production, development, test, and integration tooling for aerospace systems. You will work across engines, lunar and new Glenn programs, collaborating with designers and manufacturing engineers to solve complex tooling challenges.

The role requires strong CAD/FEM skills, 10+ years in tooling design, and a track record of delivering reliable fixtures and machines within schedule and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• Design tooling and equipment for manufacturing and operation of aerospace systems.
• Experience with FEM and structural analysis.
• CAD-based design experience for modeling and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Design production, development, test, integration tooling and equipment for Blue Engines and related units.
• Integrate mechanical design principles across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Create drawings adhering to ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Handle tooling challenges including fixtures, rotisseries, environmental chambers, and custom machines.
• Collaborate with designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration engineering to optimize safety, cost, quality and reliability.
• Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Set and maintain schedules and budgets to ensure timely completion.
