Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA invites entry-level GSE & Tooling Engineer to join our diverse engineering team. You will design tooling for Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn programs, contribute to fast-paced development, and support safe, repeatable spaceflight.

You will collaborate with mechanical designers, manufacturing and integration engineers, and help translate requirements into robust fixtures, test rigs, and automation.

Qualifications

• 3D CAD and drafting fundamentals
• ASME Y14.5 understanding
• Hands-on internship or project experience in tooling/fixtures

Responsibilities

• Design production, development, test, integration, and advanced manufacturing tooling for Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn programs
• Interpret and apply ASME Y14.5 drafting standards for drawings
• Develop fixtures, material handlers, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machines
• Collaborate with component designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration engineering to optimize cradle-to-grave metrics (safety, cost, quality, cycle time, delivery)
• Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, installation, testing, and commissioning of custom tooling
• Set and maintain schedules and budgets to ensure on-time completion
