Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical hardware design, integration, and release processes on defense programs.

You will mentor engineers, manage cross-functional workstreams, perform design analyses, and support manufacturing and supplier collaboration across domestic and international sites. A DoD Secret clearance and STEM degree are required, with 5+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience in the creation, review and interpretation of technical documentation used in hardware development or production.
• Experience in mechanical design, design development, manufacturing or tooling processes.

Responsibilities

• Developing innovative technical solutions spanning the product lifecycle from proposal to testing.
• Lead a mechanical engineering team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Mentor and guide engineers to support team development and technical growth.
