Job summary

RTX seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Tucson, AZ campus to lead mechanical hardware design and system integration across the product lifecycle.

You will mentor teammates, manage design changes, and participate in design reviews, with opportunities to travel to suppliers and factories worldwide. A STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience are required, with an advanced degree offering additional advancement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience creating, reviewing, and interpreting technical documentation for hardware or tooling products.
• Experience in mechanical design, advanced design development, manufacturing or tooling processes.
• Experience developing, creating, releasing, or updating engineering drawings using a 3D CAD tool.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical hardware across the product lifecycle, including missiles and launchers, support equipment and electronics.
• Perform mechanical design analyses to ensure form, fit, and function.
• Lead small teams and collaborate with cross-functional groups to resolve technical challenges and deliver design solutions.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and manage tasks to schedule, budget, and technical goals.
• Participate in design reviews and trade studies to support informed decisions.
