RTX’s Mechanical Design group in Tucson, AZ seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the full hardware development lifecycle from concept through production. You will mentor engineers and collaborate with structural/thermal analysts, materials, quality, and operations to refine robust designs while applying GD&T, DFMA, and producibility best practices.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience (or advanced degree and 5+ years).
• Experience leading mechanical product development lifecycle across requirements, trade studies, design, integration, and/or test.
• Experience with CREO and GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings in production.

Responsabilités

• Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components and major end items per system requirements.
• Lead and mentor mechanical engineering teams, meeting schedule, cost, and technical goals.
• Collaborate with analysts, materials, quality, safety, and operations to refine design solutions.
