Job summary

RTX’s Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS) group seeks a principal mechanical design engineer to support development, build, and verification of control actuation systems at their Tucson facility. Responsibilities include mechanical design, test design, and systems engineering for DoD programs.

The role requires an active DoD secret clearance and a STEM-based degree with extensive aerospace experience. Relocation may be offered; on-site work in Tucson, AZ is expected.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years experience.
• Experience in mechanical mechanism design OR flight control systems for aerospace applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support across programs, including detailed design, earned value management, test design and execution, and systems engineering.
• Flex responsibilities based on organizational needs and skill sets; work autonomously with minimal oversight at this grade; may manage moderate-sized projects.
