Job summary

RTX's Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS) group is seeking a principal mechanical design engineer in the US to support development, build and verification of control actuation systems. The role offers access to a broad hardware lab network and collaboration with distributed teams across Huntsville and Tucson facilities.

You will work on advanced mechanism development, system integration and verification, with opportunities to lead projects and mentor colleagues in a dynamic defense

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Experience in mechanical mechanism design OR flight control systems for aerospace applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support across programs, including design, earned value, test design and systems engineering.
• Flex responsibilities based on organizational needs and skill sets; manage moderate size projects.
• Work autonomously with minimal oversight and influence policies and procedures.
