Job summary

RTX’s Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS) team seeks a principal mechanical design engineer to support development, build, and verification of control actuation systems. The engineer will contribute to multiple program needs, from detailed mechanical design to system-level verification, often with autonomy and influence over projects.

Qualifications

Typically requires a STEM degree with 8+ years experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years experience.
Experience in mechanical mechanism design or flight control systems for aerospace applications.
Basic proficiency with model development and data analysis in MATLAB/Simulink.

Responsibilities

Provide mechanical engineering support across programs, including detailed design, earned value management, test design and execution, and systems engineering.
Demonstrate autonomous work with minimal supervision and oversee moderate-size projects.
Delegate tasks, apply advanced knowledge of control mechanism development, and influence policy and procedures.
