Job summary

RTX in the United States is seeking a principal mechanical design engineer to join the PCAS organization. The role supports development, build, and verification of control actuation systems in a fast-paced, onsite environment.

You will design mechanical components, manage test activities, and collaborate with systems engineers and hardware teams. A DoD Secret clearance is required, and relocation eligibility is provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience in mechanical mechanism design OR flight control systems for aerospace applications.
• Preferred: experience developing flight control systems for aerospace applications.
• Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for model development and data analysis.
• Experience with hardware integration and DOORS/CAMEO.
• Earned Value Project Management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support across programs including design, test design and execution.
• Flex responsibilities based on organizational needs and skill sets.
• Work autonomously at this grade level, manage moderate projects, and influence policies.
