Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to lead design, development, and production support for Air Launched Effectors hardware.

You will own mechanical subsystems, perform tolerance analyses, and collaborate with Raytheon factories and suppliers to implement robust, manufacturable designs. The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience (or an advanced degree with 3+ years), strong GD&T knowledge, and proficiency in Creo and Windchill.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with Creo (Pro/E) or similar 3D modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute mechanical design tasks across sub-systems and production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to develop and document the TDP.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead small teams as needed.
• Perform tolerance analyses to ensure form, fit, and function per design requirements.
• Improve designs using DFMA and producibility principles.
• Support first builds, first article inspections, and manufacturing processes.
