Job summary

RTX's Mechanical Engineering team in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for the Air Launched Effectors program.

The role spans the full life cycle from early development to production sustainment, requiring design, analysis, and collaboration with suppliers and internal factories to deliver mission-critical hardware. The successful candidate will mentor junior engineers, lead small teams, perform GD&T and tolerance analyses in CREO, and support manufacturing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years experience, or an advanced engineering degree with 3+ years.
• Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute tasks as a prime technical contact for mechanical subsystems.
• Collaborate with team and suppliers to model and document the TDP.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead small teams when needed.
• Lead design, development, and documentation of mechanical components and end items.
• Support manufacturing processes and process improvements with suppliers.
