Northrop Grumman seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer (Staff Level) to join the Mission Systems launcher hardware team. You will design concepts and generate solid models, while coordinating with stakeholders on technical, schedule, and cost goals.

The role requires hands-on drafting and GD&T expertise for Navy programs. The candidate will collaborate across disciplines, perform trade studies, and oversee drawings, while supporting fabrication and test activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 12+ years of engineering experience; Master with 10+ years; or PhD with 8 years.
• Solid background in machine design and drawing generation.
• Plan tasks and execute to established schedules.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple projects.
• Proficiency with engineering design, production, analysis, and office tools.
• U.S. citizen; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.

Responsabilités

• Develop designs concept and generate solid models reflecting concepts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to select and evaluate design approaches.
• Oversee generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
• Identify procurement needs and support hardware fabrication and nonconformance disposition.
• Provide assembly checkout and test support.
• Generate task plans and support proposal efforts.
• Occasional domestic travel may be required.
