Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Level 4) to join the Marine Systems organization. You will develop concepts, create solid models, and generate detailed drawings while balancing technical, scheduling, and cost requirements across Navy platforms.

The role requires strong communication, autonomous work style, and experience in machine design and drawings. Travel up to 10% may be involved, with relocation assistance potentially available.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 8+ years of engineering experience (MS with 6+ accepted).
• Solid background in machine design and drawing generation.
• Ability to plan tasks and meet schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs concept and generate solid models reflecting concepts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to select and evaluate best design approaches.
• Oversee generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
• Identify procurement needs, support hardware fabrication, and disposition nonconformance.
• Provide assembly checkout and test support.
• Generate task plans and support proposal efforts.
• Occasional domestic travel may be required.
