Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Level 4 to join our Ocean Springs, MS team. You will develop design concepts and create solid models for launcher hardware supporting Navy platforms, while collaborating across stakeholders to meet technical, schedule, and cost goals.

The role requires on-site work 4 days a week, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance. Strong CAD skills and GD&T knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 8+ years relevant work experience.
• Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years relevant work experience.
• PhD in STEM with 3 years relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts and generate solid models reflecting those concepts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to select and evaluate best design approaches to fulfill requirements.
• Oversee the generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
• Identify procurement needs and support fabrication.
• Provide assembly checkout and test support.
• Generate task plans and support proposal efforts.
• Occasional domestic travel may be required.
