Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Level 4 to join our Marine Systems team. You will help develop launcher hardware for Navy platforms, collaborating with engineers and suppliers to meet performance and schedule goals.

The role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years (or 6+ with MS), strong machine design, GD&T expertise, and the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in a STEM field with multiple years of engineering experience.
• Solid machine design background and drawing generation skills.
• Ability to plan tasks and meet schedules; fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and generate solid models reflecting concepts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost goals.
• Perform trade studies to choose best design approaches.
• Create engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
• Support fabrication, nonconformance disposition, and testing.
• Travel domestically as needed.
