Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Level 5 to join our Marine Systems team, supporting launcher hardware for Navy platforms. You will develop designs, generate solid models, and collaborate with stakeholders to balance technical, schedule, and cost requirements.

Qualifications include a STEM degree with extensive design experience, strong CAD skills (NX/CREO/SolidWorks), and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. U.S.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required and ability to obtain/maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 12+ years of engineering experience, or MS with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years.
• Solid background in machine design and drawing generation.
• Ability to plan tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs concept and generate solid models reflecting those concepts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to balance technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to select and evaluate best design approaches.
• Oversee generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
• Provide assembly checkout and test support.
