Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Level 3 or 4 to join the Launcher Hardware team. You will design concepts, generate solid models, and collaborate with stakeholders across disciplines to meet schedule and cost targets.

The role requires a STEM degree, on-site work four days a week, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Military and naval launcher hardware experience is a plus, with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced defense

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years relevant work experience; or Master’s with 3 years; or PhD with 3 years for Level 4.
Experience in machine design and drawing generation.
Ability to plan tasks and execute to the established schedule.
US citizenship required and ability to obtain/maintain Secret Clearance.
Onsite 4 days a week; remote work is not available.

Responsibilities

Develop designs concept and generate solid models that reflect those concepts.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
Conduct trade studies to select and evaluate best design approaches to fulfill requirements.
Oversee the generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
Identify procurement needs and support fabrication.
