Job summary

Orion Marine Group in Metairie, LA is seeking an experienced Marine Project Supervisor to lead field activities on marine construction projects. You will work with the Project Manager and Foremen to ensure on-time, on-budget completion while enforcing safety and quality standards.

The role requires extensive marine construction supervision, ability to coordinate with multiple crafts, and strong leadership to guide crews and manage project risks.

Qualifications

• A minimum of eight (8) years marine construction experience on work barges or job sites or equivalent supervisory capacity.
• Experience receiving and handling equipment used for marine operations.
• Knowledge of integrating multiple crafts: pile driving, crane operations, welding, carpentry, sandblasting, pipefitting.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to oversee all aspects of the project and hold crews accountable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute marine projects with Project Manager to ensure successful completion.
• Coordinate objectives with General Foremen and subcontractors.
• Secure equipment and materials for project completion.
• Attend pre-construction meetings to grasp scope and schedule.
• Monitor schedule, costs, and potential challenges with Project Manager.
• Recruit qualified applicants for staffing needs.
• Ensure safety rules, HR policies, and EEOC postings are visible on site.
• Communicate daily project status with Project Manager and General Superintendent.
• Maintain inventory control of tools and equipment on site.
• Ensure proper safety barricades and signs on site.
