Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team. The role focuses on designing and implementing efficient manufacturing systems, ensuring quality control, and optimizing production and supply chain processes across aerospace hardware.

You will work with cross-functional teams on DFx, create work instructions, and advance manufacturing techniques such as composites and additive manufacturing, with a goal of reducing costs and meeting production

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university.
  • 8+ years in manufacturing/industrial/process engineering.
  • 5+ years creating English work instructions.
  • US work authorization (citizen/national/Green Card).
  • Ability to work second shift and extend hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Industrialize new products across solar arrays, integration/test, avionics, and structures.
  • DFM/ DFA/ DFT to build reliable space vehicles.
  • Translate engineering requirements into robust manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate space build.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, flow diagrams, tool designs, inspection plans).
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing tech (composites, machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality and safety standards.
  • Participate in FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new lines/equipment.
