Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Kent, WA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement efficient manufacturing systems across multiple shifts. You will drive DFx, DFA, and DFT while translating requirements into repeatable processes that support space vehicle production.

Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate build‑to‑space. You will author manufacturing documentation, evaluate new technologies, and contribute to cost reduction and reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role.
• 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
• U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to work second shift and be flexible to move shifts; extended hours if required.

Responsibilities

• Support the industrialization of new products across fluids, avionics, optics, antennas, and mechanical assemblies.
• Contribute to design for manufacturability, assembly, and test for reliable space vehicles.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate build‑to‑space.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing docs: work instructions, process flows, tool designs, inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods.
• Support root cause analysis of non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all work aligns with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards and safety.
