Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems within the Operations team in Kent, WA. The role focuses on quality control, cost reduction, and streamlined production timelines for space vehicle manufacturing.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in manufacturing/ process engineering, experience in DFM/ DFA/ DFT, and the ability to work multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering.
• 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
• U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted to the U.S.
• Able to work second shift and flexible to move shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support industrialization of new products (fluids, avionics, optics, antennas, mechanical assemblies).
• Contribute to DFM/ DFA/ DFT to build reliable space vehicles.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, QA, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, process diagrams, tool designs, inspection plans).
• Evaluate new manufacturing technologies (composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for reliability and performance.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards.
